These tumbleweeds (Kochia scoparia) were caught in a fenceline. Kochia is a major agricultural weed in the area. It's millions of seeds are scattered as the main plant detaches from the ground and rolls in the wind. This plant is highly adaptive and populations with resistance to several classes of pesticides (including glyphosate (Roundup)) are becoming more common in the area.
