Flame Front Simulator

The flame front simulator was fired up at Vandenburg Space Force Base May 9, 2023. The flame front simulator is used by the Forest Service to simulate wildfire and test firefighting equipment. Gloves, harnesses, backpacks, fire engines, water tenders, communication and tracking devices, water pumps, hoses, and fire shelters are on a long list of gear that is vetted by engineers and specialists at the Technology and Development Centers in San Dimas and Missoula.
