    Howard University students Brian Hicks (left) and Andrew Addison (right) found an exhaust system along the banks of the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C.

    Around the world, the top ten items typically found includes cigarettes, caps/lids, plastic beverage bottles, plastic bags, and food wrappers/containers.

    Howard University students are regular participants in the International Coastal Cleanup Day and are a valuable asset to the cleanup efforts in the Anacostia River.
