Ambassador Dan Shapiro joins Mimouna celebration in Ashdod 2014
Ambassador Dan Shapiro joined Ashdod Mayor Dr. Yehiel Lasri at the house of Gadi and Eti Attias for a celebration of Mimouna. Mimouna (Hebrew: מימונה Arabic: ميمونة) is a traditional Moroccan Jewish celebration held the day after Passover, which marks the start of spring and the return to eating leavened bread. Along with other guests, Ambassador Shapiro enjoyed honey and butter-filled moufletas, marzipan, pastries, traditional Moroccan cookies, dates, a variety of jams, and tea with nana (fresh mint), wishing all the participants a sweet year.
