Ambassador Shapiro visited the AMIT Afula national religious high school to discuss the U.S. Embassy’s cooperation with the AMIT Educational Network in Israel and to answer questions and challenge 10th -12th grade students to use their English. The Embassy supports an English enrichment program there that gives students the extra push to succeed in their matriculation exams and to better understand American cultural and values. The Ambassador then visited the faculty and students of Yezreel Valley College, jumpstarting a new relationship with this school. After providing the students with the latest update on U.S. priorities for the bilateral relationship since the President Obama’s visit, Ambassador Shapiro continued the Town Hall style meeting by answering some tough questions from the student body. The ambassador was also interviewed on Yezreel Valley College’s Kol Yezreel radio station.
