Music in Common
Sixty Arab and Jewish students from different cities across Israel participated in a PAS Tel Aviv program with the American organization “Music in Common” (MiC), which uses music to empower and educate communities in conflict. Four small groups of Arab schools partnering with Jewish schools (some that participate in the Access English program) came together for two-day workshops in order to develop a deeper understanding of one another, share interests and ideas, and write and record verses of a song titled “Shalom Salaam” (Peace). After the intense workshops, all the groups met in Beersheva to perform their verses together and also sing with students from Kaye Academic College who helped to facilitate the workshops.
