Strong Together: Austere Challenge 12
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Military, General Martin Dempsey, visited Israel October 28-30.
This was General Dempsey's second visit to Israel, during which he met with Israeli President Shimon Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Israeli Chief of Staff Benny Gantz.
During his time in Israel, General Dempsey visited the Iron Dome anti-missile battery in Ashkelon and observed the Austere Challenge 12 exercise, which is the largest joint exercise between the U.S. European Command and the Israeli Defense Forces to date.
