Ambassador Dan Shapiro visited victims of missile attacks at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was accompanied by Prof. Jacob Yahav, director of the hospital. Ambassador Shapiro then visited the city of Ashdod where he met with Mayor Dr. Yechiel Lasri. He then toured the municipality’s operations center and the Jewish seminary where two Grad missiles, fired from the Gaza Strip, exploded and wounded several people.
