U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro visited the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) which was moored at Haifa, Israel for a scheduled port visit August 14, 2015. During the visit, Ambassador Shapiro toured the ship and was briefed on its capabilities, and its current mission. The crew of USS Porter had just concluded their participation in Exercise Reliant Mermaid 2015, a joint search and rescue training exercise with the Israeli Navy.
