U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro and Secretary Clinton’s Senior Advisor for Innovation Alec Ross opened the TechCamp Tel Aviv on Monday, April 30th 9.00 AM, at the Kfar Ha'Makkabia center Tel Aviv. "You may have already guessed that Tech Camp is much more than a conference; it is an opportunity for us to explore how technology can produce change in our society," Ambassador Shapiro said to a crowd over 110 men and women interested in the theme of women's empowerment and technology.
The TechCamp, a two-day interactive event, provides hands on training for civil society leaders to learn how to use free, low cost and easy to implement digital tools that can help advance their missions. TechCamp Tel Aviv is held in collaboration with Appleseeds Academy, an Israeli NGO which promotes social change and equal opportunities through technology.
The TechCamp conference is the eighth to take place to date as part of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's Civil Society 2.0 initiative. TechCamp Tel Aviv features the theme of women’s empowerment and will focus on education and entrepreneurship.
