Fulbright Professor Unveils Mural of Bulgarian-American Collaboration
Fulbright Professor Kung Ho unveiled a new mural at the National Academy of Arts on June 25th, 2010. The mural depicts an inspiring combination of Bulgarian and American symbols, including monuments, architectural and nature patterns. Bulgarian art students worked for months with their American Professor to paint and assemble the mural, which currently covers one of the interior walls at the academy. The project was the brainchild of U.S. Fulbright Professor and Director of Interdisciplinary Arts at University of Pittsburg at Bradford, Kong Ho and Professor Chelebiev who said “this is an American project, created by a Bulgarian’s hand”. The mural was also categorized by Dr. Yulia Stefanova, chairman of the Fulbright Commission, as a symbol of what the Fulbright program itself which is dedicated to exchange and cooperation. Cooperation between Ho and the academy will continue when mural arts professor Oleg Gochev participates in a Fulbright exchange program next year at the University of Pittsburg at Bradford.
