2017/05/22 Screening of CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap
Hundreds of guests packed the Major Cineplex for a special screening of the documentary “CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap,” which explores the reasons that women and girls are less likely to pursue careers in computer science and other STEM fields.

The movie was introduced by its director, Robin Hauser, who is in Cambodia as part of the American Film Showcase exchange.

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’affaires Julie Chung said that the film highlights challenges women face in school and in the workplace. "We have to continue to do more to promote women to become the innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve the most pressing challenges facing Cambodia and the world," she said.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs attended the screening, along with other special guests and members of the public.
