Dushanbe, Tajikistan, May 24, 2012 - U.S. Ambassador Ken Gross yesterday participated in the official opening ceremony of Nurafzo Diagnostic Center located in the National Medical Center in Qariyai Bolo. The company was established in 2010 and recently opened the doors of its new Dushanbe facility, which provides CT scans, MRIs, and digital x-rays. Nurafzo is majority-owned by Axiom Investments, a U.S. company that invests in healthcare and education sectors in developing countries.

During his remarks, Ambassador Gross cited the diagnostic center as a great example of U.S. investment in a business that brings tangible benefits to the surrounding area. Nurafzo employs 21 highly qualified specialists from the local community and serves a wide range of clients from Dushanbe and elsewhere. With Axiom’s backing, the group plans to open five more diagnostic centers in Sughd, Khatlon, and other parts of Dushanbe.
