White House Champions of Change
President Barack Obama, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, the President's Domestic Policy Adviser Melody Barnes, and Senior Policy Adviser for Rural Affairs at the White House Domestic Policy Council Doug McKalip met with most of the White House Rural Champions of Change Philip Johnson Haynie, III, Ross Racine, Ruth Hambleton, Linda Barnes, Mark Timm, Everett Max Dobrinski, Eric Benjamin Rund, Crista Carrell, Rick Huszagh, Linda Barnes, Lance Morgan, Deborah Kane, Jason Frerichs, Roland Arriola, Sue Noble, Bruce Ward, Jacqueline Young, and Glen Young at the White House, in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, Jul. 6, 2011. These rural communities leaders came from across the country for the White House Rural Champions of Change event whose aim is to strengthen rural communities and promote economic growth. Prior to coming here, they were posed with a question about, what should/should not the government be doing to strengthen rural communities and promote economic growth.
