Cropland owned by John R Wilson and James and Susan Cox is an example of annually tilled cropland that would normally be in the process of being planted with corn or soybeans at this time of year. This acreage has been or will likely be enrolled in the annual Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA). Approximately 115 acres of cropland on these two farms is currently under water due to the break in the Camp Creek levee. These farms are approximately one mile west of the Illinois River and are located in Section 14 of Versailles Township in Brown County, IL. USDA photo Randy Tankersley.
