    Aldo Leopold’s stands beside his horse at the start of his U.S. Forest Service career in 1909 on the Apache National Forest in the Arizona Territory. Leopold was a forester, scientist, teacher and writer who brought a greater understanding of man’s relationship with nature when the technological advances of the 20th century increasingly shut people off from their surroundings.
