Forest Inventory in Urban Areas,

Conservation students are collecting systematic data on the abundance, extent, and health of trees and other vegetation in urban forest areas to help the forests adapt and be resilient to a changing climate and to determine the current health status of the urban forest. U.S. Forest Service provides funds to employ field crews to gather data on the condition of forests from approximately 1,000 sites in populated areas in five Western States -- Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
