A winding waterway creates a natural wetland area at Blackwater Marsh at Blackwater National Wildlife refuge in Cambridge, Maryland on March 9, 2006. The refuge is a waterfowl sanctuary for migrating birds along the critical migration highway called the Atlantic Flyway. Blackwater refuge has over 25,000 acres of freshwater impoundments, brackish tidal wetlands, open fields, and mixed evergreen and deciduous forests. USDA photo.
