Second Lt. Quianna Samuels checks newborn Guinevere Grant, the daughter of Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Xavier Grant, Jan. 30, 2014, at Langley Air Force Base, Va. Samuels is a registered nurse with the 33rd Medical Group Labor and Deliver unit. In 2013, Samuels aided in the initial response to the West, Texas fertilizer plant explosion, where her nursing skills were put to the test.
