A young man in drought conditions in Ethiopia

The eastern Horn of Africa is currently experiencing its worst drought since the 1950s. Crops have failed, livestock have died, and prices in local markets are too high for most people to buy what is needed to feed their families. While this drought is regional, the needs are localized and have significantly different root causes and solutions. (Kimberly Flowers/USAID)
