Participatory Mapping Workshop
Jalalabad, September 13-15, 2011; Members of the local community gather to map out the land in order to assign proper land rights and abide by new land policy. This activity involves players at all levels, which results in a compromise regarding land rights and property titles for all members of the community. Improper land use and access leads to conflict, which fuels a lack of resource management and results in an increase in poverty. Securing proper land rights for families and individuals is crucial to ensuring that land is used and accessed legally and for purposes that contribute to a stable and sustainable economy.
