Area III Athletes Run, Throw, Hurdle to Top of Competition

A cool, sunny morning greeted the contestants at the Eighth Army 2009 Track and Field Championships at Camp Casey Sept. 19.

 

Participants from Area III took home 33 medals from each of the 12 events. The athletes are stationed at Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and Charlie Company 602nd Aviation Support Battalion.

 

The athletes placed in the following events:

Men’s senior 100 meter dash: first was Jimmy Dixon from 35th ADA Bde.

Men’s open 100 meter dash: third was Marcus Weems from Charlie Company 602nd ASB

Women’s 200 meter dash: first was Dominque Nowlin from 35th ADA Bde, second was Diana Thomas from 35th ADA Bde.

Men’s senior 200 meter dash: first was Jimmy Dixon.

Women’s 400 meter dash: first was Dejournette Moore from 35th ADA Bde, second was Dominque Nowlin, third was Christina Crittenden from 35th ADA Bde.

Men’s open 400 meter dash: first was Marcus Weems.

Women’s 800 meter dash: first was Dominque Nowlin, third was Christina Crittenden.

Men’s open 1500 meter run: third was Scott Smith from 35th ADA Bde.

Women’s 5000 meter run: second was Christina Crittenden.

Women’s 100 meter low hurdle: first Diana Thomas.

Men’s 400 meter hurdles: third was Marco Agard from 35th ADA Bde.

Women’s 4x 100 meter relay: first were Christina Crittenden, Dominque Nowlin, Dejournette Moore and Diana Thomas.

Women’s 4x 400 meter relay: first were Christina Crittenden, Dominque Nowlin, Dejournette Moore and Diana Thomas.

Women’s discus: first was Diana Thomas, second was Christina Crittenden, third was Dominque Nowlin.

Men’s discus: first was Xavier Young from 35th ADA Bde, second was Brian Harris from 35th ADA Bde, third was Clint Murphy from 35th ADA Bde.

Women’s shotput: first was Diana Thomas, second was Christina Crittenden.

Men’s shotput: first was Xavier Young, third was Brian Harris.
