DES takes frigid plunge for worthy cause
Members of the Directorate of Emergency Services joined about 11,000 other revelers for a frigid dip into the waters of the Chesapeake Bay during the Maryland State Police 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, January 24, 2009.
It was the first time Aberdeen Proving Ground emergency and law enforcement personnel participated in the event as a group.
The plunge raises funds for the Special Olympics Maryland which provides sports training and competition for adults and children with intellectual disabilities. Read more...
