The National Association of Secondary School Principals and the U.S. Army conducted a Joint Leadership Symposium at Fort Leavenworth's Lewis and Clark Center for more than 30 principals and emerging education leaders Nov. 13-15. The intent of the symposium was to share professional development guidance through discussion and demonstration of Army best practices in leader development. The symposium provided tangible, applicable guidance and resources to symposium participants by presenting content and experiences that can inform or be applied by attendees. The purpose of pairing an established principal with one of their emerging leaders is to establish continuity for adapting best practices within a school and to enhance leader development at different levels.
