OMAHA, Neb. – Jace Cochran, a hydrologic technician with the U.S. Geological Survey, secures an ADCP while gathering measurements on the Missouri River at Omaha, July 1. The ADCP or Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler, is used by the USGS to calculate the velocity of the water, the depth and width of the river, which in turn is used to calculate the discharge flow.
