Checking pneumatic piping at Fort Belvoir

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Wayne Baird, a steamfitter with SwissLog, checks pneumatic piping for dents while working in the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital Oaks Pavilion, Oct. 4, 2010. The pneumatic pipes will be installed throughout the hospital buildings and used to transport items between locations, similar to pneumatic systems used at bank teller windows. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District is managing design and construction of the hospital as part of 2005 Base Realignment and Closure programs here.
