Special Representative Farah Pandith Visits Ottawa
From November 15th to 17th, Farah Pandith, the State Department's Special Representative to Muslim Communities, visited Ottawa, in her first visit to Canada in her official role.
While in Canada, she met with various groups including Ridgewood High School, the Association for Progressive Muslims of Canada, and the Centre for International Policy Studies at the University of Ottawa, speaking about her work and what her office is doing to reach out to Muslim Communities around the world.
Pandith gave a special presentation at Ottawa U on November 16th about 2011 Hours Against Hate, a campaign that she helped to launch in early 2011 that focuses on getting young people all over the world to volunteer their time to build stronger communities that value pluralism and diversity and reject hate and bigotry.
Pandith also delivered the keynote speech at the Association for Progressive Muslims of Canada's Eid-Ul-Adha dinner.
