Street Art without Borders @ Grabowsee...before pasting !
The Grabowsee sanatorium for tuberculosis sufferers began life in 1896 as an experimental facility. The experiment was successful and it became known as the Red Cross Sanatorium for the Working Class.
Used as a military clinic from 1945 - 1995 by Soviet forces in (former East) Germany, the estate then stood abandoned for 11 years, during which time it became increasingly dilapidated.
On August 6 and 7 2011, the Artbase Street Art Festival attracted over 100 street artists.
With the help of my friend Alaniz, I pasted aprox. 40 artists as part of street art without borders in this exceptional environment.
