Verboort Populaire, 3 Nov 2012
The second randonneuring event I've attended. (And yes, I know technically, it's not a true rando if it's not 200km.) The weather was meh, but much better than last year's event: cloudy to foggy to some drizzle, high around 55F/13C. The ride started in rural Verboort, Oregon (two miles north of Forest Grove) where the annual Sausage Fest was happening. The route first headed northwest via Route 8 (Gales Creek Road) and 6, before it turned onto quiet Timber Road which brought us almost all the way to Vernonia. Then southbound along the Banks-Vernonia Trail to Banks. The last eight miles were rural roads between Banks and Verboort.
