Wortley West Curve, once part of the GNR Great Northern Line. Old rails and signal post remain amidst the heavily overgrown verge.

Best time of year to visit here. I've never been beyond the bridge.

I'm surprised the tracks are still there - do you think they'll re-open the line at all?

I agree rik, the summer is a pest with the verge in full bloom. I doubt they will re-open the line cooldudeandy.

I think it is amazing that the track and signal are there after so many years. This was a closure by stealth wasn't it? Perhaps they are not confident to lift the track. Anyway, nice to see formation still intact, perhaps KX > Bradford trains in future.

I don't think this line will see trains again. There are going to be direct Bradford - London trains again soon but it will be Bradford Interchange - Huddersfield - Stockport - London Euston!
