COVID-19 emergency response activities, Sajida Foundation hospital’s isolation Center, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh

Asma Sultana, 27, works as a senior nurse and in-charge of the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Narayanganj-based Sajida Foundation hospital’s isolation unit for coronavirus-infected patients. Asked if she feared coming in contact with an infected patient, she replied “Why should I be afraid of this? It is my duty to serve the people in need. Rather I feel proud to serve the people during such a crisis.” Initially her family member was skeptical about her duties to tend Covid-19 infected patients, but now they also feel proud of her accomplishments.
