Guinea Conakry Official Visit
Oulimata Sarr, the regional director of UN Women in West and Central Africa carried out a field mission to Guinea, Conakry from May 16 to 18, 2021 under the auspices of the office of the Resident Coordinator in Guinea. This mission had several objectives, including those of meeting the high authorities of the Guinean government, the United Nations country team in Guinea, the line ministries including that of women's rights and empowerment, the technical and financial partners who support the process. Guinea, women and young leaders (from civil society, parliamentarians, private and public sectors).
The visit had several main objectives:
1. Present the Generation Equality Forum which commemorates the 25 years since the 4th World Conference of Women and the action coalitions of its action platform and which will be held on June 30-July 2 in Paris
2. Invite women to join the FEG and identify coalitions of action so that Guinea is not left behind
3. Listen to women and collect their orientations and requests from the UN
4. Discuss with women on specific issues of women's rights, women's representativeness and access to funding
