Nüshu scroll presented to UN Women
UN Women Deputy Executive Director John Hendra receives a scroll from a delegation of experts from Hunan Province in China, at the invitation of the UN Chinese Book Club. The scroll, written in a unique female-only script called Nüshu, is a translation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and celebrates UN Women’s establishment and the launch of an exhibition of the Nüshu script at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
