The worst floods in seventy years hit Thailand in 2011. The damage was unprecedented: 754 people dead, 75 main highways were inaccessible, 65 provinces flooded, and 1.53 million households and 4.07 million people affected.

in the aftermath of the Thailand floods, UN Women is working with the NGOs Chumchon Thai Foundation, the Friends of Women Foundation, and government partners to support women’s leadership community-based disaster management response and recovery efforts.
