Following its first launch at the High-Level Women Leaders Forum for Africa’s Transformation at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in June 2017, the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN) supported by the African Union Commission, UN Women, and the Federal Republic of Germany, is convening the Second Women Leaders Forum for Africa’s Transformation: a groundbreaking initiative, which seeks to enhance the leadership of women in the transformation of Africa with a focus on governance, peace, stability and development, and on creating space for African women to take leadership positions and share experiences and lessons learned.
