STEM Tech Club 11-4-18 _ 05 - 18
Seventeen youth attended the final fall meeting of the Lancaster County 4-H STEM Tech special interest club held on Sunday, Nov. 4. Dr. Johnny Thieken, former professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University, along with UNL mechanical engineering student, Sawyer Lorenzen, taught club members STEM concepts to help them build propelled vehicles. Each team was given a limited amount of materials. Teams launched their designed vehicles that needed to roll on their own on the floor and turn on a curve in a designated area. Teams continued to make adjustments to their designs to make the vehicles travel farther and in the curved direction.
