Botswana-UPenn Partnership
The Botswana-UPenn Partnership, a global-engagement example of the Penn Compact, was developed nearly 10 years ago to provide the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine’s help in training Botswana health providers in HIV treatment and prevention. The partnership, which has hosted a visit by Penn President Amy Gutmann, has expanded over time to include students from 10 of Penn’s 12 schools.

Among those applying their talents to this project are student interns David Peters of the School of Arts and Sciences and Jing Tian of the Graduate School of Education, who work with children at the Kamogelo Orphan and Vulnerable Children Project in Mogoditshane Village outside of Gaborone, the Botswana capital.

More information about the Botswana-UPenn Partnership is available at www.upenn.edu/botswana/.
