The main street, David Bruce Avenue, Charlotte Court House, Virginia (population 436, 2000 census). The buildings shown are a row of Federal-style structures (pre-1850) with the possible exception of the old Texaco station. (it was in operation in the 1940s) . Widening the street in the 1950s required the removal of porticoes from some of the structures. Just beyond the Texaco station is St.John's Masonic Lodge and Tucker's Store. The lodge and the store are part of the Charlotte Court House Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995--ID #95000023
