The first UNITE Shoot Hoops Not Drugs basketball camp with Jeff Sheppard for 2011 was held June 7 at Nancy Elementary in Pulaski County. A total of 122 youth from Pulaski, Wayne and Russell counties, plus two other states, attended. Congressman Hal Rogers addressed parents on the need for their involvement in keeping children drug-free. Winners of two basketball goals were 7-year-old Emma Johnson of Jabez and 13-year-old Marcus Barnett of Nancy.
