Baghdad, 29 May 2021 – The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General/Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq, Ms. Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano, participated today in Baghdad at the Fourth Annual Conference of the non-governmental organizations. In her speech DSRSG Vojáčková-Sollorano stated that she looks forward to her continued collaboration with the Government of Iraq as the UN works to help Iraq’s IDPs and returnees find durable solutions to their displacement, and her continued cooperation with national and international NGOs as the UN’s implementing partners. However, she also look forward to the day when the United Nations is no longer needed in Iraq, and Iraqis are able to live in peace, prosperity and security.
