Joseph Crane, CWA 7901

Mr, Crane, an organizer for Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 7901, discovered first-hand how useful the benefits of the Union Plus Mortgage program can be. After he was terminated from his last job for union activity and was facing several months without a paycheck, he received a grant and an interest free loan from the Mortgage Assistance program. He is pictured here with his wife, Devon.

“I’m sure glad we had the help when we needed it. I couldn’t stop standing up for working people even though it cost me my job. It was coming down to losing my pride, or losing my home. It was extremely tough, but my wife and I remembered we had the Mortgage Assistance Program from Union Plus. Thanks to Union Plus, I kept both my pride and my home, and now I’m back fighting for other CWA working families.”

The Union Plus Mortgage Assistance Program provides interest-free loans that can cover the mortgage payment for union members, as well as their parents and children, who have had a Union Plus Mortgage for 12 months or more. The loans can be repaid for as little as $75 a month. More information here.
