2014-DG Li at the opening of the cultural week of China's Silk Road Economic Belt

VIENNA, 6 October 2014 - Director General Li delivered welcome remarks at the opening of the cultural week of China's Silk Road Economic Belt. "The Silk Road Economic Belt will serve as a major economic artery linking the Asia-Pacific and European regions over a length of 7,000 kilometers and covering more than 40 countries, with a total population of more than 3 billion. I am convinced that the economies of all these countries along the Silk Road have a bright future and will flourish through increased trade in goods and services, transfer of technology and know-how, which will benefit all the people of the region."
