gray paisley duals box

Of all the intricate and fancy boxes I've made over the years, this very simple square one remains perhaps my favorite. Minimalism has always appealed to me not only in the ability it has to deliver its impact all at once (the "gestalt" image), but also for its continual ability to surprise me by how little "information" is necessary to create a high level of visual interest, and also how minimalism demonstrates the extreme fragility of aesthetic success: paint a few lines on a canvas and you may have a deeply transcendent image, but alter the length of one of those lines, or it's color, or the angle at which it lies, and this one small change more often than not will cause the image to lose all of its visual impact - the coherence of the whole is lost.
