Assistance to the village of Velyka Vergunka
In October, Luhansk Field began shelter interventions in the village of Bolshaya Verhunka in Luhansk region, where hostilities had been occurring during summer 2014. The village accounts approximately 5500 residents (6500 prior to the conflict) including 50 IDPs came from the contact line/grey zone areas (both NGCA and GCA). According to the data received, 227 private houses were damaged (20-totally).
Initially, there have been planned to support 120 households of Bolshaya Verhunka. Beneficiary selection/damage assessment is conducted by FO Luhansk Protection/Shelter teams in coordination with the village administration members on a daily basis. First 26 vulnerable families have already been provided with 1408 pcs. of shifer, 1570 pcs. of timber, 142 rolls of ruberoid, 4,25 tons of cement and other shelter materials. The distribution took 2 days and has been completed today. Please find some pictures attached. As you can see, the local community actively participated in the delivery of shelter materials.
