On 12 and 13 February, UNHCR hosted a mission of the Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine, Mr. Shigeki Sumi, who was accompanied by two Japanese diplomats (Mr. Koji Tsutsui, First Secretary, and Ms Yuri Ito, Economic Attaché). The mission visited UNHCR shelter interventions in Kurdumivka (Donetsk Oblast Government-controlled area), held meetings with regional and local authorities and officially inaugurated “Kusanone” (“grass-roots”) grant assistance projects in Kharkiv and Dnipro oblasts. The mission was accompanied by UNHCR Kyiv and hosted by UNHCR Sub-Office (SO) in Sloviansk.
