Bending the Iron

'Harp' switch stand on the line at Ardenwood Regional Reserve. The railroad is a project of the SPCRR, the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources in Fremont, CA. This style of railway switch doesn't use point rails like modern switches. The rails leading into the switch are actually moved (bent) by the motion of the switch stand.
