Elderly Armenian Woman Guards Home

    Newer Older

A 106-year-old woman sits in front of her home guarding it with a rifle, in Degh village, near the city of Goris in southern Armenia. Armed conflicts took place in and around nearby Nagarno-Karabakh, a territory in Azerbaijan also claimed by Armenia.

Sure, Azerbaijan is fake. Nobody even argues that. A country that didn't exist before 1918 can't be considered real in no terms.

you see this is the whole problem. you feel entitled to the whole South Caucasus and disrespect , hate and even DENY the history of existence of your neighbors. you are no better than a Nazzi. Armenia is responsible for 850,000 Azeri refugies.

Hey everyone, lets argue politics incessantly on flickr like teenagers. Isn't there a better medium to argue, if there is an online forum or site that is truly neutral, please recommend us there instead of using the comments section of this photo as a personal soapbox/battle ground.
Moreover oilrockz, yes you, if you are going to accuse people here of every mistake their country has ever made (no country's foreign policy is without fault, and as a country grows politically and economically, it's involvement in the affairs of other countries grows as well, as seen by China's foreign policy in the last 15 years) at least back your statements up with news articles and photos. Is there a book or article we should read, or are you just going to insult everyone from afar as a little girl.

As a proud Latin American, I am completely neutral in this entire affair, and living in a country ravaged by a civil war started by the United States, I feel your pain and anger. I ask though what are you going to do? If you feel so strongly about this issue, is this really the place, or are you actually going to do something about it like start a million man march in Baku or join activist causes.

The photo is captured nicely and the way the old women is holding the rifle for safeguarding her house seems great, I like it a lot.
