UNMISS and Partners Conduct Human Rights Community Awareness Programmme
In collaboration with the African Partnership Aid Rehabilitation and Development (APARD), the Prominent Core Council for Vulnerable (PCCV), the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) Human Rights and Police teams conducted a human rights community awareness programme communities in Amokpiny, Rumbek Centre, for 130 members of the IDP (internally displaced persons) and host communities belonging to the Dinka and Nuer ethnic groups (75 female and 55 male). The programme covered a variety of human rights topics, including crime prevention, women and girls’ rights, and consequences of early and forced marriage.
A student in Amokpiny studies his English after the school day ends.
