Pathways to Political Leadership Fellow: Sheneal Parker
As a civically engaged mother of color raising her son single-handedly, Sheneal Parker recognizes the need for mothers of color to be more engaged in their communities because she values the unique perspectives, background, and skill sets that they bring to the table. An active and talented community leader who has held several board positions, including the Fenway Community Development Corporation and the Community Advisory Board at Children's Hospital Boston, Sheneal is committed to improving the services and access to resources within her community. Her research question as part of the fellowship centered on the barriers to political entry and leadership for mothers of color while exploring sources of support to encourage their civic and political engagement.
