The University of Massachusetts Confucius Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston
The University of Massachusetts Confucius Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston is part of an international network of more than 385 prestigious Confucius Institutes in 96 countries worldwide.
The Confucius Institute facilitates rich, cultural exchange between the U.S. and China. It has sponsored many programs funded by Hanban to educate Americans about Chinese language and culture for the past five years.
The University of Massachusetts is home to the only Confucius Institute in Massachusetts, and only the sixth Confucius Institute in the U.S. Madam Xu Lin, Director-General of Hanban and Chief Executive of the Confucius Institute Headquarters, came to Boston for the inauguration of the institute in 2006. Currently, more than 280 Chinese students on international visas study on the Boston campus.
